Brian J. Aungst, Jr.

Concentrating his practice in the areas of health care law, medical malpractice defense, land use, zoning, governmental, and administrative approvals, consumer collection claims, labor and employment law, and commercial litigation, Mr. Aungst has extensive experience representing large health care systems and medical providers.  He has provided representation for BayCare Health System, All Children’s Hospital, and community institutions such as the Clearwater Marine Aquarium and Ruth Eckerd Hall.  Mr. Aungst also has extensive experience representing clients before governmental entities such as the City of Clearwater and Pinellas County in the areas of land use, zoning, development review, and code enforcement.

A resident of Clearwater since 1988, Mr. Aungst is an active participant in the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce, having served as legal counsel and past Chairman, the YMCA of the Suncoast, and First United Methodist Church of Clearwater.  Brian also serves the citizens of Pinellas County and the Sixth Judicial Circuit as a gubernatorial appointee to the Juvenile Welfare Board and the Sixth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission.

 


Stephen O. Cole

Mr. Cole represents entities and individuals in resolving disputes, seeking to avoid litigation when that best serves the client’s interests, but prepared to counsel and to represent them in litigation when necessary. Mr. Cole is experienced in matters involving construction, liens and bonds, contracts, employment matters, real estate, will contests and probate matters. Mr. Cole has worked with many clients regarding employment contract disputes involving noncompetition, nondisclosure agreements and trade secrets.

Mr. Cole served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army in Germany.

 


James M. Craig

Mr. Craig has extensive experience in advising public sector and private employer clients in all aspects and stages of the employment relationship, including traditional labor relations law, representation and unfair labor practice cases, collective bargaining, drafting and review of hiring procedures, application documents, immigration law compliance, and contracts, drafting, review and training in employment handbooks and policies.  Mr. Craig also provides real-time advice to employers as to leave and disciplinary policies and pragmatic risk analysis of termination decisions.  Additionally, Mr. Craig provides efficient management of, and representation in, all phases of individual plaintiff and class/collective action litigation brought under Title VII, the ADA, ADEA, ERISA, FLSA, FMLA and other federal and state employment laws as well as the enforcement of trade secret, non-competition and non-solicitation agreements.


Jeffrey W. Gibson

Mr. Gibson provides regular counsel and litigation representation to individuals and entities throughout the State of Florida.  In the area of Labor & Employment, Mr. Gibson provides counsel regarding strategic initiatives, as well as defending employers in matters related to equal opportunity, sexual harassment, labor relations, wage and hour and all other employer / employee concerns.  Mr. Gibson also handles a broad range of complex civil litigation, including medical malpractice defense, Americans with Disabilities Act and business contract disputes.  He has negotiated settlements and tried cases in both state and federal courts.  Mr. Gibson has also presented appellate arguments before state and federal appellate courts.


Todd A. Jennings

Mr. Jennings’ primary area of practice is civil litigation.  He has experience litigating matters involving construction, business, insurance, contracts, employment matters, intellectual property, and admiralty.

Mr. Jennings served as a Navy Officer aboard the Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine, USS Maryland SSBN 738

 


James Addison Martin, Jr.

Mr. Martin represents several local and national healthcare providers and individual physicians.  He has successfully negotiated numerous settlements on behalf of clients with favorable results and has also tried to jury verdict multiple medical malpractice cases.  Mr. Martin’s analytical skills provide clients with a clearer understanding of the issues involved so they can make informed decisions on how to proceed.  He has litigated to a successful outcome many cases for large corporations which involved numerous and often very complex issues.  Corporate leaders consistently seek his counsel to affirm their strategies and internal planning, particularly as new law changes emerge.
