Brian Aungst Installed as Chamber Chair

Aungst, Brian_squareCongratulations to Brian J. Aungst, Jr. on installation as the Chairman of the Clearwater Chamber of Commerce at the recent 95th Annual Meeting of the Chamber.  Brian was elected as a Shareholder with the Firm in 2014 and focuses his practice primarily in the areas of Administrative, Governmental and Business Litigation.  Dedicated to the Clearwater community since his youth, Brian currently serves in leadership positions with various organizations, including the Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas County and the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, consistent with his commitment to serve the community and its citizens.  Congratulations to Brian, and we appreciate his commitment to continuing Macfarlane Ferguson & McMullen’s rich heritage of community leadership.

Brown inducted into ABOTA

Andrew M. Brown has been inducted into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). ABOTA membership is by invitation only, requiring significant jury trial experience as lead counsel among its member qualifications.


Stainton Appointed to Florida Bar Standing Committee on Judicial Administration and Evaluation

William Stainton has been appointed to the Florida Bar’s standing committee on Judicial Administration and Evaluation.
The Judicial Administration and Evaluation Committee has the responsibility of accepting specific assignments from the Board of Governors in areas regarding the judiciary. The committee prior to each legislative session reviews all legislation prefiled pertinent to the judiciary and makes recommendations either to the Board of Governors or the Legislation Committee.


Magidson Receives Richard T. Earle, Jr. Professionalism Award

Macfarlane Ferguson & McMullen is pleased to announce the selection of Joshua Magidson as the 2007 recipient of the prestigious Richard T. Earle, Jr. Professionalism Award. The award is presented by the Barney Masterson Inns of Court to the lawyer who demonstrates the highest degree of professionalism in the practice of law in the county and circuit courts.Pinellas County Circuit and County judges determine the recipient.

Mr. Magidson is a shareholder in the firm’s Clearwater office and is a 1980 graduate of Stetson University College of Law. Mr. Magidson practices law in the area of business litigation, with an emphasis in real property litigation, probate litigation, auto dealership and bankruptcy issues involving creditors’ rights.
